During the first session, Marc Bénaïche shared with the Afrique Créative cohort his experience as a cultural entrepreneur, focusing on the human and financial stakes related to consequent fundraising from an investment fund. On the strength of his successes but also the obstacles he encountered, he gave the group keys and tools to best manage their structure’s growth. His assessment is very positive: “The exchanges were rich, instructive and led the participants to ask themselves new questions about good practices in terms of management. »
Yann Nsangue Akwa then facilitated the “Scale-up strategies” session. This session made them aware that there are a variety of scale-up strategies and it is crucial to opt for a strategy that is in line with the company’s vision. For Yann, it is [bleu]”the heterogeneity of the cohort that favors the rise in competence of the entrepreneurs”. He adds: [bleu]”this diversity allows them not only to position themselves, but also to take responsibility for their vision and development strategies, realizing that there are many ways to scale up and start a business. »
Thanks to its virtual format, other members of the entrepreneurs’ team were able to take part in the bootcamp, notably during the “Investment readiness” session hosted by I&P. Entrepreneurs and their administrative and financial managers were able to deepen, thanks to a substantial theoretical input and practical case studies, the financial issues related to raising funds from investors.
Finally, the week ended with a session facilitated by Caleb Owino on the theme of trajectories of change: in sub-groups, the participants went back over their journey, the lessons learned, the obstacles encountered and their development priorities. According to Caleb: “The idea of the focus groups was very useful, giving participants the right framework to reflect on their objectives and get feedbacks from like-minded entrepreneurs”.
The participants came out of the digital bootcamp satisfied and with their heads full of these meetings that were as instructive as they were motivating. Sébastien Bazemo‘s team testifies: “The contents provided are in line with the development stage of our companies, each one being complementary and very rich. We were captivated and reassured to know that even the facilitators had trajectories that were not always linear and ascending and that learning never ends”.
Therefore, it is with renewed energy that the entrepreneurs are entering their last quarter of incubation!
