Fatoumata and Safouane PINDRA

Project leaders 

Fatoumata PINDRA (founding member): Holder of a Master 2 in Audit / Management Control, Fatoumata has extensive professional experience in the field of organizational management and relations with partners. She has been involved for several years in various development programs, as well as the production of events and cultural products on the Senegalese scene.

Safouane PINDRA (founding member): A graduate in production management at Inirep (France), he completed his career with several training courses in management of shows, artists and venues. With more than 25 years of experience in the musical field, Safouane has managed major events in Senegal and West Africa. He was also the manager of around twenty African artists and groups.

The company 

For 20 years, Optimiste Produktions has produced phonographic and audiovisual productions and organized events to promote urban cultures in Senegal, notably the YAKAAR international urban music festival (formerly Hip-Hop Awards) and three editions of the springboard competition Yakaar Young talents Rufisque. Optimist initiated the YAKAAR pole (hope in Wolof), a creative space with a recording and rehearsal studio, tailoring and screen printing workshops, a documentation space, as well as a multipurpose room. These activities are supplemented by training to strengthen the capacities of young artists and technicians. Optimiste contributed to setting up Perceptive, the first performance hall with a capacity of more than 1000 seats in the Rufisque department.

The development project 

With Afrique Créative, Optimist Productions pursues acceleration objectives. Among these, the company wants

Several activities have already been carried out:

  • Completion of the Yakaar pole extension work
  • Ordering installed screen printing equipment and sound equipment
  • Finalizing the website
  • Tax regularization and the development of team employment contracts
