Kayfo Games is a video game development studio based in Senegal, dedicated to creating innovative and culturally diverse experiences.
Aware of the underrepresentation of Africa in the video game landscape, Kayfo Games wants to respond to this challenge by offering high-quality African games that take into account the realities of African players. Since its launch in 2019, the studio has produced dozens of mobile games.
THE ENTREPRENEURS
Julien Herbin is the founder and CEO of Kayfo Games. Passionate about video games since his youngest age, he joined the industry in 2007 as a Developer at Ubisoft, and now has more than 17 years of experience in the field. In 2019, he founded Kayfo Games in Senegal to boost the video game industry in West Africa, create job opportunities for young local talents, and develop games highlighting African cultures. Under his leadership, Kayfo has produced around twenty mobile games of all genres. Julien is particularly proud of the evolution of his team, which has progressed considerably over the course of the projects, to become a reference and a source of inspiration for young people aspiring to get into the video game industry.
Thierno Ndiaye, COO and Lead Developer at Kayfo Games, is a talented programmer and passionate about video games. Holder of a Master's degree from the Institut Supérieur de l'Informatique (ISI) in Senegal, he joined Kayfo a few months after its creation as an intern, driven by the desire to contribute to the growth of the video game industry in Senegal. Thierno played a key role in the creation of many of the studio's flagship games, such as Jam Rush, KayLudo, And Afro RacersHis commitment and expertise have allowed him to climb the ladder to become Director of Operations, where he continues to lead the studio's most ambitious projects.
THE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
Kayfo Games is supported by Afrique Créative in the development of “Kayfo Play”, an African portal for instant video games available on mobile phones.
This gaming service does not require any installation, and the games offered are optimized for lower-performance devices. Players can enjoy a varied catalog of games by simply subscribing to unlimited Passes, payable in Mobile Money.
By developing this portal, Kayfo gives players a unique video game experience with local content accessible to all, and allows African developers to distribute and monetize their content.
Initially, Kayfo will launch its portal in Senegal and Ivory Coast, before extending it to the entire sub-region to contribute to the dynamism of the video game industry on the continent.
