Zoom on the launching ceremony of Creative Africa

Saturday June 8, 2019, in parallel with the inauguration of the residency of artists and researchers “ Villa Saint-Louis Ndar » In Saint-Louis (Senegal), the Creative Africa program was officially launched, in the presence of MP Bruno Studer, president of the culture and education commission of the French National Assembly and representative of the President of the Republic, the Minister of Culture and Communication of Senegal Abdoulaye DIOP, the French Ambassador to Senegal Christophe Bigot, the director of the AFD (French Development Agency) in Senegal, the representative of the mayor of Saint-Louis, the director of the French Institute of Saint-Louis and other Senegalese cultural figures.

This event also marked the opening of the program's call for applications. This call will make it possible to identify eight entrepreneurs based in Burkina Faso, Morocco, Uganda or Senegal, in order to integrate the Afrique Créative incubation program. After the official allocations, a presentation session of the program took place in the presence of operators from the cultural and creative sector. The opening of the call for applications aroused keen interest and numerous discussions.

The Director ofAfricalia as well as the Program Manager, surrounded by other members representing the Afrique Créative consortium, composed ofInvestors & Partners (I&P), Zhu Culture And Bayimba Foundation, as well as their partner Jokkolabs, answered questions from the public and the press.

Babacar Sarr, President of FESFOP (International Folklore and Percussion Festival in Louga), urged entrepreneurs wishing to take part in the program to show the greatest seriousness and to fully commit to the success of their businesses, emphasizing that the success of Africa Creative will not be the sole responsibility of the consortium in charge of coordination, but will reside in the hands of the future incubates!
