The progress of the winners after a first quarter of incubation

In the incubation phase since November, the winners have made progress in their respective activities.

Coached by local incubators and trained through online learning sessions, the entrepreneurs are taking promising directions for the rest of the program.  

Community play areas with Yam Solidarité

Rosine Arzoumpoko Kiema and Colombe Cretin, at the head of the Biibop company, have carried out numerous activities to devote themselves to child development via educational toys. In this sense, an agreement with the association Samenti was signed to test BiiBop toys in schools, where children are present in case disability And autism. BiiBop won a market with PED as part of a partnership with YAM Solidarity to develop playgrounds outdoor communities. A new game “S’quisse”, ready and launched, was designed in collaboration with Romain Lejeune. BiiBop also had the opportunity to be selected by the French NGO ASMAE, to become the exclusive reseller of picture books in Burkina Faso, within the private sector. In addition, BiiBop initiated and completed the development of its showroom, which allows you to organize storage space, arrange and sort toys, but also to welcome customers. In addition, the teams were strengthened by the recruitment of a Commercial full-time and a Administrative Assistant and Logistics, to strengthen the creative capabilities of the company. 

Even with a very ambitious program at the start, BiiBop managed to be further ahead than expected. Despite known health and safety issues in Burkina Faso, the company is not giving up and stay very motivated to develop its activities!

Mohamed Ben Saïd at the national seminar for the development of cultural events

With a view to developing synergies between festivals and institutional managers, Mohamed Ben Said of the company Akacia Productions implemented its pilot project of Dougga Festival, scheduled for next June. In fact, two days of national seminar took place in Dougga for the development of cultural events. At the same time, two album releases are scheduled for March for the groups “Gultrah Sound System” And “Yüma”. Also, a visit is planned to the Czech Republic, in partnership with Color of Ostrava, at the festival Czech Music Crossroads, with the aim of an exchange of skills. 

Akacia Productions multiplies contacts and collaborations. This represents a necessary amplification for Capacity Building of the cultural sector in Tunisia!

Awatef Mosbeh at Lab’ess

Awatef Mosbeh of the company Morbiket has mainly focused its activities around the diversification of content of digital products and some market prospecting. 100% focused on product development, the company has notably developed a partnership with ISAMM (the Manouba Multimedia Arts Institute) with the aim of training young students. At the end of their university career, some of them could be hired by Morbiket. In order to pursue its objective of market prospecting, new partnerships were established between Morbiket and among others Descartes, Insadder where the Center for National Monuments. Two important market surveys were carried out at the expo Dubai 2020 and in France with Descartes and the archaeological site of Glanum to test an application.  

The numerous new partnerships concluded will certainly allow Morbiket to effectively meet a learning need balanced for a new connected generation!

Master Class: music and digital distribution with Nix

To support its capacity for action, Awa Diop Girard of the company Deedo has strengthened its teams by recruiting a Community Manager and one Business Developer. Several musical projects have been released via Deedo Records, including those of Taal Bi And Mist Cash. In collaboration with Ableton And Electrafrique, training in electro music production was offered. Finally, the “Dial Tone” project was finalized with Free to allow users to set a Deedo artist as their phone ringtone.   

Of all the accomplishments, one that Deedo is most proud of is the integration of the Wolof language in choice of language on the Deedo Distribution application!

Launch of the Quad-A academy and its 10 students

The Quad-A Records company, led by Andrew Ahuurra had the opportunity to move your premises in a larger space more suited to their needs. The company has enriched its infrastructure throughacquisition of technical equipment, intended for the launch of the Quad-A Academy. This project allowed 10 students to join the academy whose ambition is to train the next generation of sound engineers!

Results from the experiment center

Dzifa Anagblah of the Safi Label company has set up a experimentation center dedicated to DIY batik making. Many experiments have been carried out there with the aim of achieving sustainability goals. A lot of thought has been given to how we can get rid of waste. Always with environmental concerns in mind, the company decided to join the Green Butterfly Market, an artisan market where artisans, makers of their local products, come together to sell art, crafts, clothing, jewelry, food, hair care, and more.  

Across Ghana, Safi Label set out to explore, in search of various artisanal skills whose products have social and environmental concernss!

Construction of Khub Creation

David Douglas Masamuna Ntimasiemi of the company Dl Multimédia focused its activity around the implementation of the incubation project Khub Creation. This new laboratory aims toaccelerate quality of the services of the actors, evolving in the field ofaudio-visual, of the digital arts and the creation of cultural products through the medium of image, sound and multimedia. Infrastructure works began Lumumbashi and should be completed in the coming weeks.  

While waiting for the construction work to be completed, Dl Multimedia is actively working on the creation of its incubation program and the selection of future trainers!

Khalil Arafan presents his video game “Birdspotting”

Through the acquisition of a new PC and software, the entrepreneur Khalil Arafan from Palm Grove Software has deployed its skills in IT development, At design and to the production of his video game non-violent “Birdspotting”. These new acquisitions continue Palm Grove Software's development project of wanting to produce “Birdspotting” on a first platform. 

Happy news for the independent video game development studio which was finally able to obtain its own official domain name under the name of http://www.birdspotting.game/

Next steps: Bootcamp and Acceleration phase  

Soon will take place in Tunis on second bootcamp of Creative Africa (week of March 28, 2022). The program will be developed and implemented by I&P Conseil, a member of the consortium, and will be devoted to preparation for fundraising and ESG and Impact topics.

This bootcamp will represent the transitional stage between the incubation phase and the acceleration phase. During this new phase, companies will be accompanied by a finance expert from the I&P group, will continue to be coached by their creative mentors and formed through group and online sessions.
